• The Sivas University of Science and Technology Distance Education, Application, and Research Center (SBTU UZEM) commenced its activities following the regulation published in the Official Gazette dated March 2, 2022, numbered 31766. Our center aims to reach all potential student groups by removing the limitations of time and space in higher education. Beyond being a technical infrastructure unit, SBTU UZEM is structured as a modern "Instructional Technologies and Design Center" that blends educational technologies with pedagogical principles.
UZEM is the central hub for planning, implementing, and coordinating distance education activities based on information and communication technologies at our university. Our center ensures that all educational models—including associate, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, as well as continuing education, courses, seminars, conferences, and certificate programs—are conducted in accordance with distance education standards. By guiding the development of online-based programs and contributing to the digital support of existing courses, our center aims to facilitate academic interaction and cooperation among university units, as well as with national and international institutions. Furthermore, it provides strategic support by sharing its academic expertise to meet the distance education needs of stakeholder institutions.
Educational Coordination: Planning distance education processes within the framework of current academic criteria and coordinating process management in harmony with institutional operations.
Academic Techno-Pedagogical Support: Enhancing the digital education competencies of our faculty members through comprehensive in-service training organized at the beginning of each semester, dynamic workshops tailored to academic needs, application workshops, and personalized techno-pedagogical guidance.
System Usage and Operational Support: Providing technical guidance to ensure faculty and students utilize SBTU LMS, AYDEP, and other digital platforms efficiently, resolving operational issues, and managing user-oriented help desk processes.
System and Infrastructure Management: Establishing distance education systems within the university and conducting infrastructure integration and central system alignment in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology (BİDB).
Solutions and Consultancy: Offering educational technology solutions and academic consultancy for our stakeholders.
Developed in accordance with the modern university structure, our ecosystem is based on the principle of the universality of knowledge:
Learning Management Systems: Management and coordination of user-friendly SBTU LMS and UBYS platforms, as well as the AYDEP portal, which offers a competency-based education model.
Live Lesson Infrastructure: Integration of BigBlueButton (BBB) and similar interactive video conferencing systems that ensure the uninterrupted execution of synchronous education processes.
SBTU Open Courseware System: A digital sharing platform that makes qualified academic knowledge accessible to all humanity.
